Welcome to Video
Video
Video was conceived at about the same time as television and broadcasting images. Though radio has proven to be an effective tool of communication and entertainment, the need for the transmission of images eventually gave birth to the invention of video or the visual component of transmission. Video and audio together have proven to be powerful tools of communication that not only provided viewers with information, but entertainment as well. Unfortunately, with the emergence of television and video broadcast, the radio industry somehow waned in strength. A 1979 song by the Buggles aptly titled, "Video Killed the Radio Star", sums up how the influx of video technology tuned out the radio stars of the earlier generation.
Evolution of video
Today, videos in various forms and media are enthralling audiences with the crystal clarity of images and sounds that they project. Television was the first and foremost projector of videos to the household or individual. From black and white technology to high-definition, the video technology for home entertainment has vastly improved over the past century. Cable-television has benefited greatly from the new high definition technology being employed by most cable providers nowadays.
It has always been a dream of telephone companies and clients to integrate video with communication. Before, video conferencing was only seen in futuristic or science fiction-themed movies and shows. Although video conferencing has been made possible in the past decades, the quality of the audio and video were not at par. Thankfully, constant developments in telecommunications technology made it possible to improve data and video transmission. At present, real-time video conferencing through 3G technology is now possible with zero or barely noticeable lags in talk time.
The Internet has also proven to be a useful medium for video transmission. Various websites are popular for hosting scores of moving images in video format. Sound and picture quality are vastly improved when viewing videos on the Internet. The Internet has done wonders to conventional entertainment tools aside from video. Internet radio is also made possible and has the same clarity that a video might have.
Gadgets that captured video
From the clunky Betacorder to sleek pocket-sized video cameras, the gadgets that captured images have evolved as well. Video cameras are handy tools for communication. Aside from commercial uses, many individuals are also into video cameras for personal uses. Video then was preserved in magnetic tapes that somehow limited recording time. Present video cameras allow recording longer and without the hassle of magnetic video tapes.
However, careful research on the specifications of different video cameras is required prior to purchasing one. Price and purpose are two of the few major factors to consider. Video cameras can be purchased in electronics stores.
